    The WET JET Tour:
    On the Canadian side of the Niagara River, the Wet Jet Tour departs daily out of Niagara-on-the-Lake ON from May until October 17, 2010. As well, we depart from Niagara Falls ON from mid June through to Labour Day (Canadian Holiday the first Monday in September). We also depart daily from the United States side of the Niagara River out of Lewiston NY from mid June through to Labour Day. After Labour Day, we depart on a limited basis and weekends.
    * You will absolutely get soaked, so bring a change of clothes.
    * Passengers must be at least 44 inches tall (avg. 6 yr old).
    * All guests must be on site 45 minutes prior to your departure time.
    * Passengers under the age of 16 must travel with someone 18 or older.
    * We do not reserve specific seats for any wet jet departure.
    * Passengers are allowed to bring a hat, glasses & water proof cameras. There is minimal storage on the jet boats.

    The JET DOME Tour
    Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours introduced the futuristic looking Jet Dome in 2000. Although currently only departing from Canada, the Jet Dome can be reserved for groups of 15 or more out of Lewiston, NY. The Jet Dome Tour:
    * Departs from Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON in the shoulder seasons (April, May, beginning of June, September and October).
    * Departs from the Niagara Glen (Niagara Falls, ON) during the end of June, July, and August).
    * All guests must be on site 45 minutes before your departure time.
    * Passengers on the Dome must be at least 40 inches tall (avg. 4 yr old).
    * Maximum seated capacity is 40 passengers.
    * Passengers under the age of 16 must travel with an adult over the age of 18.

  • Niagara Falls Illumination Schedule

    Since 1925, the illumination of Niagara Falls has been financed and operated by
    the Niagara Falls Illumination Board. The Board’s first installation in 1925 was
    twenty-four carbon searchlights each 26 inches in diameter, emitting a total of
    1,320,000,000 candlepower. The Falls have been illuminated most
    nights since that time, except during World War II when the lights were turned off to conserve power and during subsequent years when generating facilities could not keep pace with electrical requirements of the construction boom.

    February 1 to February 28 *** Lights On at 6:30 PM until 10:00 PM
    March 1 to March 8 *** Lights On at 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM

    April 1 to April 30 *** Lights On at 8:30 PM until 11:00 PM
    May 1 to August 14 *** Lights On at 9:00 PM until Midnight
    August 15 to September 30 *** Lights On at 8:30 PM until Midnight
    October 1 to November 1 *** Lights On at 7:00 PM until Midnight
    November 2 to December 30 *** Lights On at 5:00 PM until Midnight
    December 31 *** Lights On at 5:00 PM until 1:00 PM

    Note: Illumination times are approximate and subject to change according to the light conditions.

    During the months of March and April, ‘Lights Off’ extends to midnight on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

  • Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory to Host New Swamp Creatures Exhibit

    The Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory is pleased to present “Swamp Creatures”, a new family-friendly educational exhibit. Featuring animals from the world’s wetlands, the new exhibit created by Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo of Ottawa, will run from February 8 to May 11.

    Zoo educators will be on site daily (except Wednesdays) to lead captivating educational programs and interactive sessions for visitors.

    The Swamp Creatures exhibit will include species such as: Cuvier's Dwarf Caiman, Dumeril’s Monitor, Alligator Snapping Turtle, Stinkpot Turtle (indigenous), Pink Salmon Bird-eating Tarantula, Bullfrog, Budgett's Frog, Norwegian Rats, Cotton Mouth, Green Anaconda, Yellow Anaconda and the Malaysian Blood Python.     The fully accessible Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory is located at 2565 Niagara Parkway, on the grounds of the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens and School of Horticulture.     Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo is one of Canada’s largest sanctuaries for unwanted pet reptiles. None of the animals on display were taken from the wild.
